Sort Out Box (First Draft)

I like to hoard stuff. Papers mostly and card. At odds with my wish to live minimally, a burden of an artist dear. However clutter is not. Are these things clutter ?

Business card for Chris Getliffe (Illlustration, Art and Design). Picture of a fat grey rabbit with a red balloon. His website is http://www.getliffe.com

Shiny Letter from Jason Lynne, who used to edit an excellent self-published British comic anthology, Topaz, with a fine European Art style. Jason recommends LED-TRS2 (done), and that I interview Dave McKean and Ralph Steadman. (Circa 2001)

Flyer for Lost Shoe Comics, a streetpunk styled comic at one time available from Flat 3, 25 Stockton Road, Chorlton, Manchester, M21 9FB, for a quid and a first class stamp. On the reverse, a letter from someone called Mark in Derbyshire who likes my reviews zine. Hes a pal of Alex Potts, Martin Eden, and Kev, who owns a comic shop in Bridlington.

Colour flyer for Jeffrey and Jack Lewis City & Eastern Songs, with tour dates. On the reverse, the words 'Matt Smith', and a defunct email address, toomuchsugar(at)hotmail.com, perhaps for Teamsmithy .

Address for Graham Bettany. Graham is the most under-represented and brilliant British cartoonist whose work is on the same level as S. Clay Wilson. Ifs psychedelic, genuine punk, not easily defined, and if you're paying attention it will rattle your expectations and prejudices. Probably available for £2 from Grave Graham Bttany, 5 Howgill Close, Nelson, Lancs, BB9 oSX.

A letter from Shane Chebsey (14/8/99), thanking me for ordering CAOF Presents*12, with a comp copy of *8. I did enjoy the reads.

A colour postcard of a Hooded Justice/Anti-KKKman yelling "Captain Mugger", indicating that is he. Think I'll send it to some MP or other. The weblink is Smallerworld Comicgenesis.

A ticket for Buckcherry: they played The Limelight, Belfast, back on September 4th, 2006. Buckshot Steve and I may have got some dodgy Guinness here, but for sure we remembered it as a sexy punk show.

Several old issues of Crisis lent to me by Phlebas. Oops.

A chronological list of loss history (2 pages) - Practised recommendation for trauma survivors. I never completed the program. However I'm finding my own way, and this may come in useful.

Spiral Jotter- One half features remaining script from old superhero book, Daggers, I scribed for pal. A Giffen/DeMatteis JLA rip-off with tones of the most recent Dr.Who series. The other half features fragments of various other stories I was writing, and some Stipe-inspired streams of consciousness exercises. Amidst, small block capitals, "I am well and truly stoned at this point".

Oxford City Amnesty Group Newsletter April 2006

Letter from Border and Immigration Agency. Very short : your concerns noted sort of thing. Bearing in mind what followed with this case. I'll mount it.

Letters from Abbey, the building society. I've been using Abbey for 20yrs now. Since I moved to Oxford, I have found their Headington staff mostly rude, obnoxious and contemptuous.

Old editorial notes from OBScene, a student paper were I was news editor for a year, and were I had my heart broken by unprofessionalism. Good journalists, note, your efforts were once recorded, in many form.

Oh my, this is a deep box. Ya can't blog everything, and ya shouldnt. Though perhaps sometime in the distant future, I'll follow up on some of these odds and ends. Were these leads leads?
