HMRC Vs OAPs : Not much of an update

A few months ago I was posting in various places about pensioners suffering verbal and physical abuse at the hands of UK officials at Calais . Short story:  No laws broken, no guidelines interfered with, search and seizure, interrogation tactics contravening international human rights. I had a coachside seat and managed to take it all down and interviews with the traumatised. It made me some good contacts with OhMyNews International and it seems I pissed off a London Met approved CNN Travel writer.

Since then, I contacted my MP Andrew Smith. Got a phone call the following week, office personnel told me he'd be raising the matter in the Commons. There was some racial profiling going on and the researcher seemed none too pleased. I got a letter confirming that the following day, though I've checked the Hansard logs and still nothing

Theres a pattern of thought thats distasteful and stands that students aren't worth listening to when it comes to local government. That they're tourists: there for their three years, then off again.  I'm not inferring this is going on here. This particular stink is here to stay until Customs and Excise learn to wipe their own bum.In the meantime, whatever idiocy my parents generation did or didn't, this is no way to treat their retiring lives.
