Working with your hands should be a delight

The current global economic crisis should be looked at as an opportunity to  help change our views on the kind of education our schools provide.

Doing things "manually" or learning a skill should  not be  frowned on.  Our young people should be encouraged  to pursue mastery of a practical skill as a part of compulsory education.

Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) should not be viewed as lower value than the traditional academic pursuits.

Completely agree. The headlong rush to emotionally blackmail young people into taking any degree course that comes along is wrong headed. There is so much value to vocational skills and it has been overlooked for too long.
