The current global economic crisis should be looked at as an opportunity to help change our views on the kind of education our schools provide.
Doing things "manually" or learning a skill should not be frowned on. Our young people should be encouraged to pursue mastery of a practical skill as a part of compulsory education.
Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) should not be viewed as lower value than the traditional academic pursuits.
