Quitober 09 Challenge Over

Posted by Desmond Sherlock

The Quitober 09 Challenge pilot has been completed successfully.
We are now in the process of evaluating who successfully quit for the month of Quitober.

The winner of the Air Asia return flight to Phuket for participating in the Quitober 09 Challenge was:

Nicholas McBride of the University of Adelaide

So far the results have been quite interesting but with less successful members than I expected of some 40%.

Having been sponsored by their university to quit smoking for October & hopefully altogether, we are now in the process of refunding successful members their membership. The four Australian universities were:
The University of Southern Queensland (USQ)
The University of Canberra (UC)
The University of Adelaide (UofA)
The University of Sydney (USyd)
Our thanks goes out to all participating universities in this pilot. We are hoping that should our findings prove positive that we can get all Australian and New Zealand universities to participate in a full event next year, Quitober 10 Challenge.

Congratulations to all successful members & to all members that participated.
We hope this pilot event has been beneficial to all participants even if they did not manage to stay quit. And to all that have successfully quit & are still quitting, we hope you go on, stay strong & continue on your newly gained freedom from smoking.

Below are the email newsletters that we used to send to our members to assist them in their quit smoking attempts:
