One of my clients asked me about my understanding of the up-coming Lunar Eclips on Solstice December 21st 2010.

re: Full moon / Eclipse / Solstice (at 1:13 am MT on 12/21/10 ) as a transprsonally oriented clinically trained counselling psychologist and astrologer for 30 years. . .. 

. . . .I have my own theories:

The full moon / eclipse / solstice happens at 29 degrees Sagitarius this year. . .and each element (full moon in Gemini / eclipse plus solstice at 29 degrees Sagitarius) are each reflections and metaphors. . . 

The sign of Sagitarius is correlated with philosophy, religion, spirituality, culture and cross-cultural principles, ehtics, law and 'universal law'--higher mind / higher education (the arrow from the archer's bow is angled to about 27 degrees sagitarius.

The galactic center is the center of our galaxy--the milky way with its 'black hole' at the center. . .these are both pre-eminent symbols of the archetyple Feminine (or the feminine expression of the Mystery that is the Creator--which is beyond gender)

Gemini represents our day-to-day communications with our peers / brothers and sisters, and exchanges through written and spoken word in business and commerce, travel, and 'communications' industries.

winter solstice is a time of letting go that which has been darkening your life and giving way to that which is seeking to emerge (in 6 months). . .letting that 'light' or spark into your consciousness as you discard that which is no longer needed.

eclipses are generally about letting go as well, / Though full moon is about fruition.

Hence the interpretation of what gets set into motion now and shows up in 6 months (at summer solstice) is two fold:

From the most optimistic conscious choice perspective: The awakening of a greater awareness of our own Creative Mystery--to give birth to (black hole) and nourish (milkey way) a broader philosophy based on 'higher mind' awareness of universal ethical principles and spiritual knowledge of the relationship between the indivdiual and 'universal law' that is transmited through our relationships with our peers (brothers and sisters--humanity)--particularly in the areas of day-to-day communications, business, commerce, travel and information exchange--to bring about creative opportunities for change within the fields of education, law, religion and and spokesperson in these fields.

from the most dualistic perspective, the most 'unskilled' expressions of these energies woudl be: the 'righteous' side of sagitarious would take hold and the coniving 'two faced' aspect of gemini. Hence the 'unskilled expression that may show up in 6 months--would be a further polarization along religious -fundamentalist- perspectives that galvanize the general population into moralistic attitudes impacting thinking at the broadest level of society creating a schism between the face one shows the world (persona) and one's hidden self (shadow) which has been deemed to be unacceptable. This leads to dishonest dealings in business, commerce, and law, and missed communicaitons between peers.

The opportunity to awaken and make a conscious choice to embody the mystery and move toward communicaitons and philosophies that are creative and nourishing is (in my opinion) something everyone would choose. . . however, not every one is awake yet to having the choice.

So on Solstice (at 1:13 in the morning) it is useful to identify what you might need to eliminate (within yourself, or within your life) so that you can make a more creative choice. . .and then to mediate on what you envision your life to be if (and as) you live more and more from that integrative, noursihng spirit that embraces the cross-cultural spiritual principles of universal truth as expressed through ethical day-to-day communicantions with peers in all areas of life (but especially in relationship to business, commerces, communication, writing, teaching, justice-system and religion).
