Andrew Luke

If you've not seen this yet....

Shadow Home Secretary David Davis has resigned from the Commons and is to force a by-election in his home constituency solely on the issue of 42-day terror detention. He invokes the Magna Carta, in an inspiring stand for civil liberties.

And do check out the video, as deathboy says, "his speech is worth the full five minutes".

The Missing Comment

Click on the picture above. You'll get the same results I do when its hyperlinked ! The comment regsiter came up on the 30th and I figured after a while it were a ghost glitch in the WWB system which would disappear.

(Adopts Aleistar Crowley voice) Participant unregistered, are you there ? What were you trying to say to me ?

Or maybe just a glitch.

Japanese Society - The Effects on Dealing With a Low Fertility Rate

Posted by Sebastian Peel

Sebastian Peel

After World War II Japan experienced a baby boom 1947-1949, and then an echo in 1971-1974. It was expected that there would be a further echo in the 1990s; instead Japan's fertility rate has dropped remarkably to a level of 1.32 in 2006, although this was up from a record low of 1.26 in 2005. A low fertility rate is particularly worrying to Japan because Japan has the fastest ageing population

Desert Island... DVDs

Posted by Sebastian Peel in Film

Sebastian Peel

I was once asked, if I had to choose 10 DVDs to take with me to a desert island, which ones would I take? Having put much thought into the subject I decided to try and list my top 10 films of all time...

10. 28 Days Later - One of my favourite action/horror films, and as a bonus a British production. Had a good spin on the zombie genre, suspence, action, alternative endings and the chance to see

Coralie Young
Everyone likes sex. But why do so many species of animals reproduce sexually? An interesting question I though, and a widely debated subject in biology... I thought I'd pull together a few of the main theories, and see whether they can explain the appeal of sex...

Asexual reproduction, seen in bacteria, some plants, and a few small animals is much more advantageous. It's quick, easy, means you get

Update on galleries: If you delete an image and re-upload it you’ve nae chance, for a while I suspect. My tests find this occurs owing to the recognition of same keywords in both the image title and document name.

I wanted very badly to embrace local blogging. If I were successful, I’d be helping to grow the site, the successful

Brookes Bus

Andrew Luke

Recently I stumbled upon this little fantastic video commentary on the Brookes Bus. The first few minutes are too young, but bear with it as it’s a great example of student voicing and student film-making

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x3HP0NHaWWk

My own opinions on the bus service are delight at the improvement in the last year, since I wrote some rather lengthy thoughts on the
