So I made my decision and below is the letter I sent to the companies HR department over the weekend after simmering about how mad it has made me. This is a company which makes many claims about the people it employs and the ethics around that policy. Maybe I shouldn't do this but I really don't see why I should put up with this. It'll be interesting to see the ebb and flow over 3 days, like I said before its easy to throw stones on the basis of one shift, but over 3 I should get a clearer picture, I'll let you know.

So the care home shift went ok. The place wasn't too bad, they had chickens and a kind of allotment garden so that people could occupy themselves rather than sit around watching crappy day time tv and waiting to die. And yes that is what some of these places are like. The people generally have the best of intentions but there is just a lack of dignity. The food is generally hit and miss too.
