Forum TopicTrace - Please Use It Responsibly
Just a quick word to request that members use our unique Trace facility responsibly.
There are two main issues:- Firstly, please do not post a missing person more than once, as asked - it is simply counter-productive because Google hates duplicate content which is what you are creating. The way our system works is that we create a unique page with the name of the person you are looking for incorporated in the address. If you create two pages with the same address, you devalue both pages for Google, who might not then index them. You also slightly devalue the entire facility as a whole, so we have to spend our own time deleting duplicates. Secondly, please be responsible with whom you are looking for. If you know that person is not really missing and does not want to hear from you, then please do not post them on Trace. We appreciate that there are sometimes grey areas, but we had an issue with this recently when the missing person contacted us directly and asked us to be removed which put us in a difficult position and meant we had to go through different procedures which takes up our time unnecessarily. So please act responsibly. Thank you for your consideration. On Behalf of The WikiWorldBook Team.
