Mizzima News is a Burmese news organization promoting democracy and and freedom of expression by improving the flow of information in and out of Burma since August 1998. The International Press Institute awarded Mizzima News its Free Media Pioneer award in 2007.
Mizzima maintains a head office in Delhi, India and a news bureau in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Mizzima has over 30 employees reporting from five countries: Bangladesh, Burma, China, India and Thailand.
