About Me

“I offer a clear distinctive alternative to the business-as usual and culture of corruption in Albany,” Southworth said. Southworth also believes she’s an excellent candidate to run against Farley, considering her success in a town where registered Republicans vastly outnumber Democrats. She said she’s used to being the underdog and believes she’s proven her mettle in the political arena. “I’ve proven what I’m made out of and that I can make independent decisions based on the needs of the public,” Southworth said– If you really want to know about Patti Southworth, talk to her and you will see her genuine concern for the people who are our communities

Life Philosophy

Several items separate me from my opponent: (1) My experience in both the private sector as a pharmacist and my 6yrs as a town supervisor make me uniquely qualified to face the challenges in the 49th district. I have experience bring the power of local, state and federal government together to solve problems and save the taxpayers’ money. (2) I will be the “People’s Senator” My number one priority is the residents of the 49th Senate District. I have already been to all 5 counties listening to the needs of the residents, local government and business. What I have found out is no matter the topic: taxes, economy, Common Core, the Safe Act the residents feel abandoned by their state government. They feel state elected officials are unresponsive and access to them is restricted. I don’t fit that mold, I have always had an open channel of communication. I openly engage the public, that’s why my personal cell number 518-441-6548 is always available to the public and I encourage people to call. “People need to be connected to their elected officials” (3) I am a fighter. Ask anyone who knows me I won’t stop until the job is done. And that’s what the residents need, a person that fights for them.
