About Me

My name is Alwyn Barry. In October 2007 I was called to Street Baptist Church as their Pastor. Prior to that, I was a University Principal Lecturer in Computer Science for 20 years, latterly in the University of Bath. I am married and have four children. More important than all of this, in 1975, as a child of 10, I came to understand for myself that God sent His own son, Jesus, to die for me. He died, not because of anything good I had done, but because I was totally without hope, born with the curse of sin and living under that curse. Without the perfect life, death and resurrection of Jesus, who paid the whole price of my sin, I could never meet God's standards. He sought, He called, He paid the price, He saved, He re-created, and He is transforming. I stand before Him only by His great love; only in His amazing grace!
