About Me

I am a Dog Whisperer, Pack Leader and guardian to my pack of ten dogs (mostly rescues), two cats and seven rabbits and I am a single mother of one teenage daughter - this is my family. I am also a foster for a local area rescue group. I have shared my life with dogs on a full time basis since 1992. I have also had a successful, 25 year-long career as an Interior Designer specializing in large office accommodation projects. In 2010, I created and launched my website 'the Ottawa Valley Dog Whisperer' (http://www.ottawavalleydogwhisperer.com). The website provides me with the opportunity to make people aware of my Dog Whisperer Services, my unique line of dog and pet gear (collars, leashes, etc.) and to share my experiences, knowledge about dogs and rabbits to help other people enable the best in their companion animals.

Life Philosophy

I am a stoic. I have always felt that it is important to share knowledge rather than hoard it. I believe in and actively work to (on a daily basis) bring out the best in myself and others. I strive to never allow fear to overwhelm me or to determine the chooses that I make. Instead I let my determination, persistence, creativity, patience and intuition lead the way. I live by the credo ‘necessity is the mother of invention’... if, in order to accomplish a task, I need to figure out the what, where, when and how of something - I will do so. I believe it is important to have humility. I believe it is important to be capable of and willing to admit when I make a mistake - by allowing myself to do so I support myself to move forward and learn every day. I believe in a spectrum that includes greys and is not limited to black and white - this allows me to have an ever changing, dynamic perspective on all facets of life, enabling me to see, grow and learn. See my website http://www.ottawavalleydogwhisperer.com...in particular the Education Section, the 'Tales' page, and the 'My Pack' section…so much of my philosophy of life is embedded in these pages.
