About Me

It is The Polished Pooch's goal to help you create a relationship with your dog built on mutual trust and respect. I consider certain factors and use this information to create a customized training plan that addresses obedience and behavior concerns. These include; • Temperament • Breed • Age • Sex, • General Health • History Techniques and tools can then be adapted to suit individual dogs or situations as needed. Dogs are a companion animal, and sharing your life with a dog should be a wonderfully enriching experience. This is achieved when your companion is well-mannered and comfortable in a variety of environments resulting from a well balanced pet. The Polished Pooch's focus is helping you bring out the best in your dog. Therefore, my program includes, puppy training, adult dog training, socialization and behavioral training, and anxiety problem solving.

Life Philosophy

The Polished Pooch understands just like people, every dog is a unique individual. Some are shy, some energetic, some are dominant, and some can be behaviorally challenged. But all are social, pack-oriented animals and have a natural understanding of leadership. It is important to remember your dog is a significant member of your family and should be treated as such. But, if you fail to establish a leadership position for yourself, your dog will feel obliged to take the position. All dogs benefit from a leader who is kind, fair, and consistent. They want the security of knowing their place and what’s expected of them. Good leaders teach manners and insist on polite behavior. Therefore, it is important to start training your puppy as soon as you bring him home. At The Polished Pooch Training serves to strengthen the bond between a dog and his owner and builds communication, understanding, and mutual respect, and effectively demonstrates to your dog that you are the leader.
