About Me

A versatile and committed educationist with a track record of producing results. A dynamic teacher with extensive experience in teaching individuals across the ability range. An accomplished DACUM facilitator with an exceptional command of the DACUM method. I do have excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. I have experience in the development of educational materials, instructor training and assessment. My own TVET background and analytical interests in other subjects, together with an easy personal inter-relations and a command of excellent communication skills have left me confident in handling instructional/curriculum issues across a range of subjects. SELECT ACHIEVEMENTS Articulated a Development plan which provided the basis for initiatives to attract funding for University of Guyana’s Institute of Distance & Continuing Education - Distance Education Programme. Co-ordinated (including sourcing of funds from donor agencies) two conferences on Distance Education 1998 and 1999. The 1999 conference is recognised as the first International Conference on Distance Education held in the Caribbean. Articulated proposal and successfully liaised with DFID for funding the development of materials for 1st phase of the Faculty of Education Certificate in Education Programme at University of Guyana. Successfully managed the design and production of 64 titles for use in the primary and secondary schools of Guyana. In the textbook development projects I edited each title as well as advised staff and writing teams in finalization of content and design. The secondary project for which I was director was noted for its respect of time lines and efficient use of funds. Records of UNDP and Ministry of Education will attest to this fact. This required managing writing teams comprising a total of 94 educators across several subject areas. Taught Industrial Arts for 16 years. Served the Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC) in various capacities i.e. examiner, module writer, Chief Examiner in Industrial Technology and now Assistant Registrar. As Assistant Registrar my responsibility included leadership of CXC’s quality assurance interventions for CVQ in schools. Served as Consultant in the improvement of provision for the delivery of TVET programmes at Government Technical Institute & Guyana Industrial Training Centre - A CIDA funded project. Coordinated the Development of modular course outlines for Technical Institutes in Guyana. Drafted a Strategic Plan and national Policy on Distance Education for Guyana -A Ministry of Education contract
